Director: Andrew Hyatt

Filmmaker Andrew Hyatt credits much of his storytelling being shaped by his elementary school days of sneaking into the basement late at night to watch marathons of The Twilight Zone and Tales From the Crypt. Hyatt pursued filmmaking at Loyola Marymount University where he wrote, directed, and produced a number of shorts.

After graduating, Hyatt spent nearly a decade gathering development and production expertise as an Executive and has been involved in 15 produced films ranging in budget sizes from $150k to $110M. With Crystal Sky Pictures, Hyatt oversaw the development of several films including Neil Marshall’s Doomsday and as head of development for Mpower Pictures, Hyatt was instrumental in the development and production of films such as The Stoning of Soraya M. (winner of the People’s Choice Award at the 2008 Toronto Film Festival and winner of best feature at the 2009 Los Angeles Film Festival).

Hyatt has written projects for a number of high profile Producers including Graham King (Argo, The Departed, The Aviator), Lorenzo Di Bonaventura (Transformers, GI Joe), Steve McEveety (Passion of the Christ, Braveheart) and XYZ Films (The Raid). Hyatt’s directorial debut, The Frozen, starring Brit Morgan (True Blood) and Noah Segan (Brick, Looper) was acquired by Arc Entertainment/ Ketchup Entertainment and was released in December 2012. Hyatt’s mind bending psychological thriller, The Last Light, starring Ed Quinn (Eureka), Jeff Fahey (Lawnmower Man, Machete) and Edward Furlong (Terminator 2, American History X), was the winner of the “Best Thriller Feature” at the 2013 Shriekfest Film Festival and was acquired and released by Gravitas Ventures in 2014.
